Submission Policy for Grave Concerns E-zine

We accept unsolicited CD, DVD ( Music and Sci-fi, Horror) film submissions and interview requests. Due to the volume received here at Grave Concerns you may be put on a waiting list for an interview. We will try our hardest to accommodate your request. E-mailing one of the staff members directly before sending material may increase your chances of having a review or interview done sooner. During the review process we appreciate everyone's patience. Once your CD or file in received it will be added to our review list. Once other submissions are done we will begin yours. Since we receive many CD review requests, there could be a 30-90 day waiting period. We also accept news submissions that you would like posted on our site. Please see our "Submit New Feature" on the main page.

To receive a review, submitted CDs obviously must be from one of the genres covered on the site. We do accept electronic submissions, but they most be in downloadable zip-files or in a place we can download the entire album or EP from the internet. If you have a promo-pool log-in please let us know. We regret that we cannot accept unsolicited independent computer game submissions due to bug/virus concerns. We do not review jukebox songs on myspace. Please send us your full album for review. We will listen to your songs on myspace to determine if your music is appropriate for our site.

Note: * We do accept unsigned artists and you can send in a CD-R of your material as long as your material is of professional quality. MySpace artists are welcome! All CD’s are reviewed and we believe giving everyone a fair chance of having their music reviewed on our website who send in proper materials.

*We do research your band and or if you are a solo artist. We do read your websites etc. You don't always have to send bio sheets. 

*Mailing Instructions*
We advise you to send (2) copies of your release to Grave Concerns E-zine, but (1) is ok. Send submissions into Julie Johnson who is the Editor and Music Director. Julie Johnson will make sure your music is heard!! The reason we suggest that you send 2 copies of your music is that: We will use the second CD for use for giveaways, contests, or  for consideration to play to our local DJ's. If you would like to send more then 2 for giveaways or special events you can and we will take care of it for you at the event.

*We are very interested in listening to your music. We review all CD's that are sent to us as long as it part of the genres we cover. We have very limited active staff writiers reviewing CD's and they are very busy with their current review assignments. They are working as fast as they can on their assignments,  but it still seems like a long time for the artists waiting. If you send in CD's it may be a while before the are reviewed and posted but they will be reviewed. I can not give you a date when they will be ready. I hope you don't mind a wait. We are also looking for new staff writers that are fully committed etc.

At this time, we are not accepting: Metal, Progressive Rock, Black Metal, Acoustic,  folk,  Country or Rap. Please do not CD a CD etc. We will not even listen to it. 

We only are accepting: Gothic/ Darkwave, Coldwave, EBM/Electro/ Industrial/ Noise/ Synthpop/ New Wave, Indie, Glam, IDM, Experimental/ Ethereal, Horror Punk, Alternative,  and Post-Punk.

Submission Notes
When e-mailing about CD submissions, please have the subject heading as: (Band Name: CD Submission ) or your e-mail may be seen as "spam" and go into the spam file. It is nice to know that your CD is coming and we can add it to our review list. Try our new contact form on our site.

*CD's and zips/mp3's are distributed to staff for reviews.

Bands: You may contact anyone on the staff to review your music and send directly to them. They would like to hear from you too, but Julie Johnson is the staff member with the main address.

We are serviced by many labels such as: Metropolis, Promfabrik , Allfa-Matrix, COP, Artoffact, Boredom Product,  Projekt, CrunchPod WTII, BitRiot, and many more independent labels. Many Bands send CD's directly, so send us your CD's!

Note: Each Staff member also has their own e-mail address. Feel free to contact any of us for submissions and send reviewing material to others on the staff besides the main address to help with flood control of CD's. You can also send to the main address and request the CD to be sent to someone on staff, but it is easier just to mail directly to staff members. You will find some other staff member addresses on our "Meet the Staff" page.

Please be patient while we are working on reviews. We do receive a lot of submissions and we only have so many people working and time. It could take up to 30 -90 days before you see a review, or maybe less., maybe more. It depends on how many CD reviews we are working on. Thanks for your patience.
